Phillips English

Terms & Conditions

Plain-English terms covering coaching, payments, scheduling, cancellations and programme purchases.

1. About Phillips English

Phillips English is a private English coaching service operated by Jason Phillips in England, United Kingdom. These terms apply to coaching sessions and programmes purchased through the Phillips English website or agreed directly with Phillips English.

Contact: hello@phillipsenglish.com

2. Coaching services

Services may include private English coaching, professional communication coaching, interview or presentation preparation, exam support, pronunciation work, and other English-language coaching agreed with you.

Services will be provided with reasonable care and skill. Specific results, exam scores, employment outcomes or other third-party decisions cannot be guaranteed.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown on the website before booking. Payment is collected securely through the booking/payment provider shown at checkout.

For programmes, the first calendar appointment is Session 1. The programme price covers the full number of sessions stated above; remaining sessions are scheduled separately after the first session.

4. Scheduling

Availability shown online is subject to change until a booking is confirmed. Programme clients may arrange remaining sessions directly with Jason or through private client booking access where provided.

5. Cancellation and rescheduling

Please give at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session without losing it. Late cancellations and no-shows will normally be treated as used sessions. Full details are set out in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.

6. Programme cancellations and refunds

Prepaid programmes are not intended to remove your statutory rights. If you wish to end a programme early, contact Phillips English. Any refund or deduction will be assessed fairly, taking account of services already supplied and any genuine loss or non-recoverable costs.

A blanket “no refunds in any circumstances” policy does not apply.

7. Starting services during any statutory cancellation period

If applicable law gives you a cancellation period for an online service purchase and you request that coaching begins during that period, you may have to pay for the proportion of the service already supplied if you later cancel. Nothing in these terms limits statutory consumer rights.

8. Client responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate booking information, attending sessions at the agreed time, maintaining a suitable internet connection for online coaching, and completing any preparation you choose to undertake between sessions.

9. Technology and third-party services

Bookings, payments and online meetings may rely on third-party services such as Cal.com, Stripe, Zoom and email providers. Phillips English is not responsible for outages or failures outside its reasonable control, but will take reasonable steps to rearrange affected coaching where appropriate.

10. Intellectual property

Lesson materials supplied by Phillips English are for your personal learning use unless otherwise agreed. You may not resell, republish or commercially distribute proprietary materials without permission.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Phillips English does not exclude or restrict your statutory rights, including the right to services performed with reasonable care and skill.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version applying to a purchase is the version made available when the relevant contract is formed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you in your place of residence.
